Real Talk
You may have seen me sharing bits of the Bravo Bravery Retreat over the last few months. If you missed it (somehow!), here’s the heart of it:
My business partner, Lauren, and I brought together thirteen powerhouse women (small business owners, non-profit leaders, and entrepreneurs) for a retreat designed to do what most never make time for: Strategic planning that actually works.
That’s right: plans with clarity. Purpose. Priorities. Legacy. Tools that move the needle.
And friends…it was nothing short of phenomenal.
What Made It So Powerful?
I’ve been trying to pinpoint it. The space was stunning. The food was chef’s-kiss level good. The women? Bold, honest, generous, hilarious, brilliant.
And if you’re thinking that 15 women in one space for a whole weekend sounds like a lot… I’ll be the first to admit I’m not always a “girls’ girl,” but this space cracked something open in me.
We had real conversations.
We got unstuck.
We built plans that are already shifting businesses and lives.
But most of all, we created a room full of love… and strategic support.
That combination created the magic.
That’s what made people say it was life-changing.
What We Built Together
And like I said, you can’t JUST dream big. We ALSO got strategic.
Each woman walked away with three powerful plans, tailored to her unique business and life:
Some had teams. Some didn’t. Some were starting over. Some were starting fresh.
But every single one walked out with tools, confidence, support, and a clear path forward.
LET ME BE REAL WITH YOU…
- Your business will never be stronger than the person leading it.
You can’t separate strategy from self. - If you don’t have a strategy at all, in a year, you will look the same as you do today…maybe worse, because the people around you will likely keep growing!
- You have to stop waiting for “someday,” and get real honest about what it means to lead well. Get honest on paper, get real with a plan, and allow yourself to actually show up the way you want to.
Your Turn
Here’s the good news: You didn’t have to be on the Bravo Bravery Retreat to make this shift.
You just need intentional time and the courage to get honest.
(Both were plentiful on the retreat, so I’m going to do my best to electronically share some of it with you below.)
Take a breath — no, really, actually take a deep breath in… and out…
…and ask yourself:
- How do I want to be seen and known?
- What legacy do I want to leave—in business and in life?
- What’s one strategic step I can take this week?
Then write down three things you want to see happen by the end of this year—in your business, your team, and in yourself.
Start small. But start!!!!
This is how we change the game.
Not all at once. Not perfectly.
But with a little bravery… and of course, a strategic plan. 😉
